  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 16: the first steps

for shooting essentially by candlelight, that's amazing. Build 16 is going to save us money in lights and generators. We'll be able to use smaller HMIs and fluorescents. It's like adding a stop to each of our lenses. Excellent work Jim. You could charge $300 for that upgrade and we'd all pay it. Thanks for not charging us though.

I think some other companies might make you buy a new model...

I'm sure they would love to get Build 16 into our hands yesterday, but i get the sense that this is a major upgrade, with major expectations and that it is critical to get it right. There are enough cameras out there now permeating the market, and so it's in everyone's best interest that Build 16 is feature rich, stable, and jawdropping. The catch 22 about Beta releases is that you can't prevent people from using them on real, paid gigs, so despite the warnings that it's beta, people will use it and the camera's reputation can suffer consequences if there are problems. My guess is, they are trying to limit the "issues" and get it as close as possible to a release build. It sounds like they are well on their way, and from what we have seen from Shawn and Jim, the wait is going to be worth it.

Footage over in the footage section :-)

Wow, you really like your booze...Chartreuse??? You could make a fairly sick cocktail out of that collection:biggrin:

Thanks for posting...is this the first semi-official video of Build 16 alpha (I've seen stills before)? Looks awesome...really can't wait now!

Here is a .jpg from Shawn's build 16 low-light test. Thought it was cool.
