Now on Alpha...holy shit! The image feels different. I can't even articulate it, this feels like a different camera!! Having fun checking it out, it seems better on the low end, just looking on the lcd and VF. The new VF menus rock!

Shawn, no good telling us - just say it is good for beta!

Shawn

Unbelievable.. how long have you been testing the Alpha build?

Shawn is one of our carefully selected Alpha testers that have been close to the program since day one. He has Red camera #27... which just by that alone means he has been beta testing before most.

Im in love again!!! I just did an experimental shot with this and wow...this build is dangerous...its turning me into a pyromaniac...

Footage over in the footage section :-)

Here I am at 2:36am working on some Build 16 test footage and shaking my head at how much better it is than we had ever dreamed we could coax out of this little camera... when all of a sudden, here is Shawn, up shooting Build 16 tests and posting, excited like he has a new camera. I am not alone.

Build 16 is the big present under the tree. I can't wait for all RED ONE owners to be able to open their boxes...

Hi Shawn,

Could you please post some R3d File if you can (or want)?
Thanks

Rami

that wouldnt help until you get the R16 rc/ra.

Nice, thanks for the B16 preview Shawn.

It would be interesting to see what happens if you stop down a little bit and use a higher ISO setting. This should help to keep a bit more detail in the highlights (flames), shouldn't it ?

Nils.

Great looking test. The flames look quite natural to me, and the color is fine; if it's blown out it's only just barely- I think he really nailed the exposure. Does this type of flame actually have much highlight detail?

are you trying to get him in trouble already? heh heh heh....

Om Om Om Om :)

Thanks guys. This is final proof:
It's all about a collective projection of good will (and some wild 'round the clock stuff going on in Cali, Canada and Holland...)

since I'm Dutch, raised in Canada and live in Cali, I like that combination...

Good will from Italy too... :whistling:
