Hello,

We are shooting some things and would like to have an idea when build 16 might come out? Still this summer? sometime this May? Sooner?

would be cool if build 16 introduced a lower compression.. :) how about 100mbs.. like scarlet, epic and hvx200.

yes.. 100 MBytes/s for the RED one possible with build 16?

100MB/s

100MB/s

No, for starters, the media (CF and RED-DRIVE) are not fast enough to support that data rate. And for the resolutions x frame rates RED-ONE can operate at its not necessary either.

Yep, which means EPIC will need newer and better record media. How is the RED RAM (FLASH) drive coming along? Are we getting close to seeing one?

...Which makes me wonder why Scarlet is being advertised with 100MB/s REDCODE? Then again, 3K @ that 180fps burst could very well need 100MB/s.

Since you beat me to it, Jeff...

And will the price be modified ?

Or a RAM buffer... :-)

First thing I asked at NAB was well what camera friendly thing records 100MB/s?? The answer was "media not yet available" if I recall. RED engineers to a target point in the future. OK, I'll buy that. Literally.

okay.. how about another datarate over redcode 35? why should scarlet have less compression?

I may have missed it, but has anyone stated that the 100MB/sec is for 23.98 material or just the max datarate for overcranked footage? For some reason I don't see there being an option for 100MB/sec on Scarlet at 3k/23.98. I could be wrong though.
