We have timed the boot up times for the latest build and we are ready to shoot exactly 84.5 second after we push the power button. I know I've read posts by RED staff that mention times in the 50-60 second range.

Are we doing something wrong? The boot times are the same as when we first got the camera in build 13. We have tried re-installing the firmware a few times.

Optimizing the boot time will come after we get the builds stable, updated and under control. Likely after Build 16 is released.

hoping for sleep function too......

Jim, I figured this was how things were going to go down. Take care of the most important crucial things today, worry about the lesser problems later. Glad to be apart of it all

My camera assistants press the on button a couple of minutes earlier, or just keep it running all day.
Its a easy habit to get into. Took a day to get used to the fact and now no one notices.
Not really a concern, but it would be nice to have it boot quicker none the less.

On another note, FAAAARRRKK! these images are clean!
I just shot a film job because my client was scared to have his job shot using RED. I took it along and shot side by side some shots, Showed him the difference, he almost died. It made the film look blurry and grainy. He feels like a bit of a tool now. but at least clients are easy to convert.

Keep on truckin Jim. Dont slow up!
