Please, please, please drop 15 before Sunday AM. Huge image test group getting together to evaluate the camera. Don't want to do it over again. Scheduled it with 15 in mind being a few days late even. Getting nervous. Pretty please. Squash dem bugs.

Hollywood.. I gotta say it again... You guys should not plan a big shoot around a beta build... specially an unreleased beta build.

you think I don't know that by now? i did at least leave a 8 day buffer from the approx march first date. cmon jarred give me a little cred. for that at least.

plus it's just testing. it's not a commercial shoot. the camera could start on fire for all I.....no no I wouldn't want that to happen.:)

ha ha .. just wanted to make sure man... and please, no fires :)

...It's not like an optical eye piece, I like to focus wide open then stop down and shoot but you can't always do that cause the monitor gets bright due to overexposure. A good way to compensate is turn up the shutter speed so you can go wide open. I wish there was a faster way to do a quick shutter speed change for focus and then go back for shooting.

100% agreed

I don't have a camera yet but even in the limited testing I have done it was obvious that the ability to take the stop off, and not overexpose, to check focus would be great.

I suggest that the white balance button is near useless for allot of shooting and its function (especially due to its position on the camera) would work well as a temp shutter speed based exposure compensation switch. Stop off.. hold down button... check focus (maybe also with the pushin function)... release the button and stop back on.

You can't accept an operator or assistant having to go into the menus to do a quick eye focus check..

Thanks for that info..

I wasn't touching the camera for my test.. And from watching the AC I felt that any trip to the back of the camera was not going to work out..

Also I would like to decrese the chance that the stop gets left off not increase it with extra complexity. A button that needed to be held down (or placed a block on recording when
pressed only once) would work well I feel..

thoughts?

thanks

Michael

Michael,
I agree with you about the auto white balance button (User2) being a waste.
From what I've heard there's a bit of a consensus on that.
I've only ever hit it accidentally - (while trying to feel for button one, the zoom in button - which should be 1:1 in my opinion). Both of these buttons will be user-definable by build 15, I hope. The hold-down option is a nice one as long as remains as an option only.
