  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 15 image on LCD flickers

I too have the same problem. We did a blackshading after upgrading to b15 a while ago and it still happens almost everytime the camera is in use. OffHollywood, do you unplug the LCD and replug while the camera is still on?

Wow okay-

Thanks Josch! I will try that as well. I get this issue from time to time as well. On my camera, it usually happens after I have been using the camera for a while and I have to reboot because of switching a battery or something. I figured it was a heat issue of some kind- but after hearing all of this, it makes me wonder. I will try the test pattern idea. So far, this has not been a show stopper. I can always mess around with the cable, or do a reboot and it fixes the issue.

We had the same problem

We had the same problem

i've noticed when we put a hand over the camera body it looks worse, unpluggin, reboothing, nothing works. It only happens when we're at mode that you look all assist and markers, if we swith to full screen mode, it
disappears. Any idea?

We just did our first shoot and encountered the same problem. Our camera is just fresh out of the box and arrived with b15 already installed, so I would think it is not related to black shading. We were working at 24fps. The flicker is there when the screen is in "display" mode, when we switch to full screen the flicker disappears.

It is not related to Black Shading... Its a timing issue related to LCD scaling. Being addressed in Build 16. In Build 15 it comes and goes.. worse in 4K 16:9 than any other image size.

I phoned RED yesterday and was told to turn test signal on and then off, whenever the flicker appears. That should solve the problem in the meantime, while they fix the bug.

I had a similar problem today, solved it temporarily by changing the resolution settings, e.g. switching from 4k to 2k and back.

I saw the problem today the first time, my camera came with b15 already installed, so i did not perform a black shading operation.

regards,
martin
