Build 104 Pre-Release...

XML Capability...?

XML Capability...?

Deanan,

How close are we to have XML import/export form Redcine-X? The reason for asking is that, after playing with it with few examples from a feature my son is currently editing, and I am CC'd starting the last week of February, I cannot imagine using something else to do it!

This is just insane!!!! :001_tt1:

Is there or will there be a way to make Quicktime Proxies changes with Redcine X as it is in RedAlert ?

Yes. That and a new Quicktime R3D component is coming.

Great news!
Downloaded build 104 and it seems to work pretty well. One thing i'm still missing is the ability to save the clips with in's and out's.

Can you turn on the verbose logging and try it so we can get a full log of what's happening on your system? Then if you could please email me the logs and the RCX (deanan at red) so we can check what's going on.
Thanks!

What's XML again?

Jim I sincerely apologize for my fellow Redusers and I for proclaiming Redcine X as a part time experiment at the Red lab. I see you guys are actually at work full time.

xml, xml xml xml xml xml, wait Deanan is working on that. Sorry. Oh and a quicktime R3D, holy shizznit are you for real. wow!!! Do you even know what that means? I worship you Deanan I really do. Thank you so much. I can't wait. thank you thank you

Please use "Verbose Logging" in the settings so we can use the log files more efficiently. It only helps make the app better... quicker.

Got it.

So, what about Debayering "Nearest Fit" ?... What's the difference between "Nearest Fit" value and "Full" value?

Hey Adrian,

I believe that functions such as FIT and 1/4 - full etc, only refer to the viewer, you set debayer settings in the detail & rendering settings.

On another note, I can't believe how good RedcineX is. Flut, Shadows and Redcolor/gamma are such a kick in the ass to my footage it's incredible!

Thanks Red!

yes, I meant to Export Settings, here:

Whenever I check Sub-folder per clip when exporting it always exports all my Quicktimes in the REDCINE-x timeline as one full clip instead of individual clips. Any one else having this issue?

exporting the full timeline exports a single movie.
if you select the clips and then timeline (selected clips), it'll
export the clips individually.

is anyone having trouble cropping the image in the viewer? I have footage from a film that we shot 4K 2:1, with an aspect ratio of 2.40:1 and I can't get the viewer to show the cropped image.
Anyone?

The player only shows the full image at the moment.
Crop/framing is not implemented in the player yet.

If REDCINE-X is to become a truly useful dailies grading tool, I would really like to see a still store on it. Having shots in a scene match is critical to good looking dailies and this is a lot easier with a still store frame buffer. Would this be difficult to implement? It would be a great feature. Ideally you could store a bunch of stills and toggle to view one of them on and off quickly and easily. It would also be great if this function were controlled by the Tangent Wave.

No offense cause I think this is a great app and all but that seems a bit rediculous to have to do. Is it possible that RED could make it so that all you have to do is click the settings box to export individual clips in a timeline. Just sayin, if I have 50-100 clips it just seems like a waste of time to have to do this method of selecting all the clips first then checking the box in export controls to send clips to individual folders.

Deanan: Progress of XML support?

Any update on progress of XML support? :sosp:

When exporting a DPX sequence, only the first frame of the sequence seems to have timecode in the metadata.

Fortunately, Glue Tools will look at the timecode from that first frame and then "count" to get the rest. My work around is to us GT to open a sequence in Quicktime player and then export it out as a new DPX sequence.

Thanks for reporting that. It's been fixed for the next release.
