  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Buffalo Bill Dissects Phantom Menace

Oh.. Wow. Damn you for posting this, now I'm hooked and have to watch it all. Haha.

I just finished part 2 and it's getting pretty F'd up, going down into the basement and pizza rolls and whatnot. The comparison of the opening scenes of Episode I and Episode IV is classic though. :)

 Genius! Thanks for the link!

Too good! thanks for the link...

Always preferred the first set of Star Wars films.

OMFG!

THANK YOU for posting this. This should be required material on day one of film school.

I started by telling myself that I would only watch one of the 10 min sections... 70 min later I'm forwarding the link to this thing to everyone that I know.

One of the funniest things I've seen in years... for real!!!
The sociopathic, idiot savant of film criticism.

Maybe I'll get around to watching the rest later tonight but from part one and a little bit into part 2 he just came off as condescending and arrogant.
Maybe a little full of him self, the "I hate this movie so you must be stupid if you like it" type of person.
Judging by the comments before me I could be talking to the wrong crowd here but I felt maybe someone should voice an opposing viewpoint... and let off a little steam.

/edit

having seen a more broad overview of this thing perhaps the point of the video was not to dissect Star Wars but rather it had something to do with the guy being a murderer and this is funny or something.

To each their own... I don't think that the comedic aspect is for everyone. However, I personally think that whoever did the narrative critique for this video was right on. It's almost a flawless dissection of each element of the film. By videos 6 and 7 he stretches a bit and looses focus on critiquing the actual film, for the purposes of comedy, but otherwise it's difficult to argue against the soundness of the criticism. And this is coming from a Star Wars fan, and for a while, a Phantom Menace apologist.

OMG, that's the best thing I've ever seen (since Avatar anyway...)

It wouldn't be half as funny if it weren't true!

Buffalo Bill was the serial killer in the film Silence of the Lambs, so doing a spot on "intellectual" film critique consistently in the style of Buffalo Bill turns a potentially done-to-death subject into somewhat inspired comedy. :001_smile:
