Hi Everyone,

I was very fortunate to be able to purchase a BT Scarlet recently. I am extremely excited to get it and start tinkering. I am wondering, however, is anybody else's order delayed due to some weird technical issue on RED's end? It has something to do with their merchant system and state sales tax. I am just curious seeing as I have been waiting for a couple of weeks now.
 
Rolando, as I have mentioned in a few other posts, mid-SCARLET battle-tested spike, we had the added complexity of our ERP system being upgraded. As with any upgrade of this magnitude, we have experienced a few hiccups this month. This - on top of all the effort to turnaround this SCARLET BTs - has caused some delays. We are going as fast as we can without sacrificing anything on the quality end of things. We even had a lot of techs at RED in this past weekend working on the quality assurance for these cameras. I know a lot of people are posting in other threads about getting their cameras this week and this trend will continue.

My apologies for these extended processing times - I hope they will all be water under the bridge when you have your SCARLETs in your hands.

I was surprised to hear from FedEx today.

No tracking email just a phone call that put a big smile my face ;)

I meet my new friend tomorrow.
 
Thanks for the update Brent. I am very content with RED's service and communication so far.
 
Man I have been waiting for a almost a month on my BT Scarlet X and nothing yet on my shipping info. I'm hoping it will at least be shipped this week. All of the components except the red mag station is showing delivered status on their website. I called RED and they said, that this means everything is being invoiced so I guess it's getting close to being shipped out!!! Hopefully this week I've been camera less for a while now. LOL just excited!!!
 
I found out about the same issue with my order as well. I was getting worried, as my card had been charged a week ago, and the web order page said it was delivered. My rep however was able to clarify that it was in relation to this sales tax glitch, and they were working hard to resolve the issue. I feel better knowing that everyone at RDC has been upfront, and quick to answer our questions. Though I admit I am anxious to get my camera as soon as possible, I understand that they have a lot on their plate right now, with all of the changes happening, and I know they are doing the best they can. All in all, I know it will be here before too long, and the years of production ahead will far outweigh a few days more in waiting.

BTW, in light of the situation, I am naming my BT Scarlet "Cobra Commander," because I haven't felt this kind of excitement and anticipation for something I ordered since I sent in my UPC's to get my 'Hooded Cobra Commander' when I was a kid. And yes, if and when I go Epic, you got it, "Serpentor." Yep I'm a geek.

OK, got my BT Scarlet, went out for some test shots. Loaded footage into my Pegasus TB RAID, fired up FCPX and had the same thought over and over, from "Jaws": "We're gonna need a bigger boat." Hehehe. It's all good. Looks fabulous, works flawlessly, and LOVE the FCPX non-destructive parameters. Make big changes with no rendering. I'll still probably use the FCPX XML out to Resolve most of the time, but I know I'll be glad it's there.

I too have been waiting a month now, but my bomb squad rep has been great on keeping me up to date on everything. I was also expecting a wait given the nature of the sale. But now it's getting shipped out and I should receive it just before Thanksgiving!

Woke up this morning to a knock on the door, strangely enough it was my scarlet. haha I didn't even receive shipping information but it sure as hell ended up being a nice surprise. My bomb squad rep was awesome through out the process. So psyched.
 
Don't worry, its worth the wait... I waited many months when I bought my first one November 4th of last year. Didn't get it till February or March (can't remember exactly when) and I was not disappointing when it arrived.... you won't be either.

My battle tested scarlet is doing wonders, so impressed with it so far. Here's a screen shot from some video.
