I've heard of people getting ripped off through scams here on RedNet. What transaction method would you suggest to guarantee that I'm not getting ripped off.

Other than meeting with the seller and paying at the same time you get your gear, can't really think of anything else. Maybe Paypal has some extra safeties.
 
Also, I will not even bother answering to ridiculously low offers so just don't if you're not serious.
