I kept meaning to ask them if their test this year would be with an R1 M-X. The BSC guy at BVE didn't know when I asked him.

With probably in excess of 6000 M sensors out there, it will be relavant for some time yet.

But some of what the test considered to be weaknesses of the Red One were down to the old colour science, so are no longer relevant.

Post work flow issues in general, I don't think those issues have vanished from what I saw in a facility last week. I was hoping to see some MX footage, but alas there are no local cameras to play with.

There is "reduser speed" and then there is "real world speed". You can not say that the M sensor is obsolete, when there are 6000+ units out there capturing beautiful 4K images.
