  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brite-View AirsyncHD - a Low Cost Wireless HD system - Epic and Scarlet Compatible

On the output side - it is easier to use an HDMI monitor - if you want to do HD-SDI on the receiver side it is also possible but more expensive.

Hrmm, very intriguing idea, seems highly suited to the Red, and possibly the AF-100 considering they have HDMI in addition to HD-SDI.

I haven't had a lot of on set monitors that have an HDMI in option, usually I use the panasonic 17" or 25"

Still, even with a $500 HDMI to HD-SDI converter at video village it's less then 1/5 the cost of a cam wave.

What are you doing power wise on the camera side - can it power off the usb or d-tap off the onboard battery, or does it require a separate power source?

Dan - regarding the FCC... I think you're out line stating that OptiTek hasn't confirmed or denied whether or not their device meets FCC specifications when he clearly stated on Jan 1st that it does meet FCC regulations. Don't talk trash about others products - just make your own as good as possible :-)

Now - I have nothing against you or OptiTek (the more options the better) but I do agree that it's somewhat of a exaggeration that OptiTek is stating that they have developed the system themselves (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JnOnT7azYc). But I'm pretty sure he confirmed in the other thread that he's using the Asus WiCast.

Here's OptiTek's answer to your question that you obviously didn't read: http://reduser.net/forum/showpost.php?p=701505&postcount=22

Since people have been using the modulus and other illegal transmitters for years and years, I don't think FCC approval is worth a hill of beans. I've used a modulus in front of the white house and the capital building, FCC ninjas did not jump out of the trees.

I just worry about using hdmi to sdi converters, even with a p-tap solution and velcro it does a few things

adds more bulk to an already bulky unit, for the price i'm not gonna complain, the converter would cost more than the unit itself, a all in one solution with sdi and hdmi input output would be preferred.

and I worry about addition delay using a converter. 1 ms is great, but the conversion might add more... if it doesn't than great, DIY is the way to go, fillmmakers have done it since the beginning. But since you're in direct contact, it might not be a bad additional thing for them to add a SDI option. professionals would pay the additional cost easily...

Hey Dan,

Are the Airsync HD available for sale anywhere in LA or are they only sold through the manufacturers website?

Also what is the run time on one of the canon batteries?
