Apologies if I've somehow missed this info elsewhere - but can someone link me to (or post) tests specifically regarding breathing of Canon L zooms? I've dug around a bit in the forums, but couldn't find much in the way of actual breathing tests.

Quick notes: 1) also interested in breathing of Canon primes, and Nikon anything, but particularly in Canon L zooms. 2) I did find Ketch Rossi's excellent "Canon Suggestions" threads [ LINK ] (but again, no breathing tests). 3) I'll take anecdotal evidence, as a last resort, but it would be great if there were at least a comparison to the Red 18-50mm, as a point of reference.

o.k. - I'm going to help my own thread along, by dumping in links that I've found. Feel free to pitch in at any time. :whistling:

LINK: Zeiss ZF primes - verdict: hardly any breathing (See the test footage... This is how it should be done!)

LINK: Tokina 11-16mm - verdict: no breathing at all, sez doug.

LINK: Nikon 15-55MM - verdict: serious breathing at the wide end, minimal at the long end

Note that none of these really answers my original question (hence the new thread), but it's useful info nonetheless.
