Hey folks! Just wanted to share some frames from a brand film I shot a few weeks back on the Scarlet-W + Sigma Art lenses. I also wrote a little blog post on my website sort of recounting what I did if anyone's interested.

Sigma ARTs + PM or BPM or HBM = spicy! (and affordable!)

Definitely dig it! Please post the film when it's done!

Mike this is gorgeous. I just went to your site and looked at some of your other shots as well and you've got some gorgeous work on your site. Great great job man. I loved the look of the night exterior acoustic. After looking at the gear I'm even more impressed. I'm not really a fan of the CP2's and it shows that it's not the lens, it's the person using them. great work. Your insight and your breakdowns are invaluable. I look forward to going through your site in my downtime.

Hey Mike, love the shots + the well written posts! Interesting how you're using BPM 1/4 in addition to haze and it's not too strong..I'm considering BPM for my sigma's as well since they're so contrasty with no filter.

Thanks Mendel. Yeah sometimes the haze + 1/4 BPM combo can be a bit much but in this scenario it seemed to work. I had a 1/8 on standby but didn't need it. The sigma art's are great but I ALWAYS have to toss SOMETHING in front of them because they can easily look a little sterile. Same thing with the cine versions.

So just read part 3, lol what you wrote at the end..you already got 6 views so guess you have to keep writing these!

I noticed you only shot using the 18-35 & 50? Did you not use an 85mm b/c you don't have one, or do you not care for that focal legnth?

haha true, my expectations have been exceeded! And yeah I didn't have an 85 but if I did, I don't think I would've used it. In fact I don't usually like going over 50mm most of the time, unless it's doc b-roll where I'm trying to be sneaky.

These shots look really, really good. Skin tones, mood, everything. It seems that the BPM strength is dependent on the type of lens - the more modern ones can go one step higher. Well that's the impression I get.
