  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BrainFarms " View From a Blue Moon "

Says on the Vimeo page you can purchase it for $12.99 but it only says DRM free SD or HD. Wonder if they'll sell a 4k version? I have a Sony 4k projector which I'd love to play it through :-) Don't have a redray player sadly, they stopped making them before I had a chance to buy one.

Work of art... can't stop watching it too. Best RED footage I've ever seen.

My bluray copy arrived today and just finished watching it on my 100" home theater. It goes without saying that this was the most visually stunning surf film I've ever seen. But... the story... just... ugh... Maybe I've just watched and enjoyed Endless Summer 2 and Step Into Liquid too many times that my expectations for a surf film with a great story were too high. I still have no idea who John Florence is besides the kid who had a cameo in Step Into Liquid.

The Brazil intro piece is absolutely stunning in so many ways. I can watch that over and over again, loved the style. The rest felt experimental and repetitive. Something I likely won't sit down to watch again but instead show others to show off my home theatre or play in the background during a house party.

Just my subjective opinion as someone who surfs occasionally.

I totally have to agree Ryan. I was extremely looking forward to this film. I fell in love with this trailer. With Brain Farm coming off the amazing film We Are Blood, I had high expectations for this one. This film was shot really well and the dragon looked amazing as expected, but the film fell short for me. There was no story and very little narration to explain what was going on. The surfing was very strong but I wanted to know about John and his adventure, and they didn't tell much at all. It had a lot of potential but I think I'll go back to We Are Blood for an entertaining sports film.

Vimeo offers a 4k download of this now: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/viewfromabluemoon4k/
Just thought I'd get it out there in case anyone else is as addicted to this as I am. I'll never forget seeing the free theater premiere here in SoCal that Hurley hosted. Unreal footage/grade/soundtrack/etc. etc. Brain Farm + RED is a winning combo.
