bowens s to Arri M18

Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to mount a ARRI M18 to a softbox with a bowens s mount through a speed ring adapter? If so what do I need. (yes I would be losing light, but reckon it will be still strong enough)

You could grip it in place directly in front of the UV cover glass... but even spotted in, you’d have spill flying everywhere, and you’d be miles forward of the bulb itself, so the beam wouldn’t fill the softbox anyway.

Not to mention that anything bowens mount would melt.

There are softboxes made to fit the full diameter of the M18, you’ll need one of those if you want the control of a softbox on the light.
