Bought a monitor and DAM customs got me.

Hi Everyone,

Ordered a camera a thursday from an Ebay seller. I'm not even 100 percent sure it will work on a Red one mx (been reading some monitors have problem with HDMI) and it is worrying me that this camera is a HDMI and no SDI HDMI connector. I'm praying it will work though because I spent 160 Euro on it and then the seller contacted me saying if I wanted it in the next few days pay 15e extra so I did. It arrived today (prdered on wednesday and the extra last thursday) and found out I had to pay another 70euro on tax and import duty. Luckily enough I had 75euro on me at the time and got it. Spent nearly 100 extra that could of went towards a battery or something. DAM. Now I just have to hope it works. Here is a link for the monitor I got to see if anyone has any ideas or possibly got one. (oh and I spent another 40e getting a battery and charger for the monitor) if it works it will all be worth it to see images from the RED.

Next time, buy a SmallHD like the new AC7. And you will get the best monitor in its price range and you will support US manufactures.

I would never buy a monitor with Twilight installed...

That said, most HDMI monitors work with the R1, but not all.

VAT is just part of importing stuff from overseas, as is a fee for the importing. Toll is levied on some articles, and I guess yours was one of it. If you are a registered business, you'll get the VAT back.

Hi Christopher, It has BNC connections but not sure on the HD/SDI, doesn't say it on the ebay page. I'll let you's know if it works. Yes the peaking filter could be handy plus got a sun shade and its a 7' monitor. Just had to buy a hotshoe adapter to attach it to the top mount. So fingers crossed that it works.

This is the Feelworld monitor. Got some good reviews at Personal-view Gh2 site. Those BNC inputs are for component and composite only, no SDI.
