Hi all - I've been debating on utilizing Boot Camp on my Mac Pro (5,1) for a bit. I do 90% of my work in Mac compatible products (adobe, blackmagic & Maxon) but I have been finding my self reading about speed boosts with Premiere & AE in window, and I have been learning 3D Studio Max - so my question is does anyone have any experience switch back and forth using R3D files via bootcamp. Also I have an un-flashed NVIDA GeForce GTX 780 3GB card, is there any issues doing the windows install (looking to put Windows 7 on the partition)?

Tom,

I switch back and forth all the time. I have the 2nd optical bay plugged into an SSD with bootcamp and a small partition for OS X.

I believe Windows would run faster based on other evidence I've seen lately. Graphic cards seem to be more enabled with Windows 7 than OS X 10.10.5. You can Option boot current with your graphics card or no?

Even if you can't. In OS X preference you can set the startup disk to book to Windows. It's another step and it works. Currently, I just start the computer, hold OPTION and choose the Windows 7 partition. I must confess, I love games and sneak over to Windows for play.
