  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BOMB EVF or ...

One of my other issues is that I run a Tilta setup (which I love) but when you add the arm to mount the Touch, its positioned vey high. The camera op has to look up at it while using the shoulder rig. If you flip the touch and mount under slung, then you have this huge 5" monitor right in the face of the op, and since you can image flip horizontally with the touch everything is reversed. So it seems to me the EVF is just a better fit in that config.

How many of you have purchased battle tested items, that is one minor concern I have?

In RAW format why would you care about "critical color"?

IMHO caring about colour has nothing to do with raw or not... We live in a world of mixed, complex and most importantly non broadband light sources. Mix that with a sensor that doesn't see like my eyes then offer me accurate colour on set and I will always say yes.

If your work always gets very heavy bleached type grades then fair enough but otherwise, unless it is too compromising in other ways, why not take accurate monitoring..?

Personally the last few jobs I have done I did the look development before hand and loaded a look on camera then monitored on a grade one monitor. The finished commercials and promos feel exactly as we shot.

yep. You need a side handle if you want to use the EVF.

An alternative is a Munz Cineloupe, which is only $375

Munz scope looks so much like a carbonite scope by cinema oxide counterfeit... unfair. The original carbonite scope may be aesthetically questionable, it's nevertheless light weight, pretty cheap, and perfectly effective for touchy focussing. Even more so than the red one evf. Don't let it catch direct sunlight, though.

Here is how I use my touch screen where I can attach the loupe.

I made a 15cm aluminium plate with a 1/4 20 and 2 holes in it to screw the Noga arm.

I have a Bomb EVF..I'll exchange with you. because I'm looking for a pro touch... Advise.

@Patrick thats a pretty cool set up. One thing I am having a hard time swallowing for the touch and I guess the EVF is cost of longer cables. I really think my Touch came with shortest possible cable.

@Kerson please PM me if your interested in chatting about your EVF.
