Hello everyone,

We have a show going up into the Arctic to shoot in temperatures below -45 degrees.
Although the BOMB has a heater cable built into the Lemo plug, my experience tells me we need some kind of external heated barney to keep the BOMB itself from freezing.

These temperature are cold enough that cables freeze and actually break in half.

Any one with a lead on a BOMB EVF heater system would be hugely appreciated.

Best,
Pieter.

I have used hand warmers wrapped around the EVF using rubber bands (some come with a sticky back for use in your shoes) and then having the camera in a raincover and or in the PortaBrace Poloar Bear camera cover. Or just wrapped the EVF in a wool sock with the end cut out.
hope this helps.
just as a reference. I have used this when I shot aerials handheld at -28*..

I use a fleece pouch with a Gortex liner. This traps in the heat that the EVF gives off.
