I'm looking for an underwater housing for the BMPCC6K for a shoot next weekend.

I got a rental quote for $1,500 for the Nauticam BMPCC6K housing but it's out of our budget. https://reefphoto.com/products/naut...ckmagic-pocket-cinema-camera-6k-ef-lens-mount

Is this really the best budget option? It's basically a plastic bag. I've been researching all week and can't seem to find anything else. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...derwater_housing_for_blackmagic.html/overview

Vance Burberry will be the guy to ask. He shoots/teaches a lot of underwater cinematography and uses the Pocket series a lot.

$1500 for rental seems a bit steep....

For a little more you could buy one of these (the prices are in AUD, so around 1500usd minus a lens port). -

Ive owned a few Ewa marine housings and they work, but aren't easy to use and don't last long.

How deep do you want to go. If you are only just below the surface, a fish tank pushed into the water with the camera works really well. You can also control the camera a lot easier this way. I shot this with a fish tank- https://www.paulrossjones.com/DIRECTING/2
Depends how you fish tank dimensions, but I have managed to push it down (carefully!) about 1-1/2 feet under.
