Just curious if anyone out there is still using blue filters when shooting with
tungsten light sources on Build 20?

Thanks
Mark

Yes - when I have enough light that is. Though I do cheap and use an 80c more often often that I have in the past.

Anyone else on build 20 using blue filters with Tungsten?

We are shooting with build 20 with Tungsten lighting on a white cyc.

we did some testing last week on a shoot, the DP crash and the visual effects company Kilt Studios with Andy Lesniak at the helm. we shot a complicated blue screen scene with lots of small and large foliage elements using a clean lens at 3200 with tungsten lights, then with the ir filter, same settings, then with the ctb 1/2, ir at 5600 and the last test provided the cleanest key with the most detail. however the other ones were acceptable, it just so happens that the 5600 ir. ctb 1/2 was the very best.

therefore, we suggest continuing the use of the blue filter if you can afford the stop, but dont panic or be concerned if you are unable to put one on.

this was with build 21.3.1

Thanks Mark and dino,

We have a large tungsten lighting package and we have a ctb 1/4 filter.
We'll run a quick test with and without the ctb filter.
