Does anybody know if Blackmagic Design Video Assist start/stops with de Red Dragon and if the files have the same name?

Best regards
Robert

If anyone wants to buy a used one for $450, I don't need it, and I'll throw in a free cable that makes the sdi port usable.

Bought it to compare to a smallhd 502.

I don't need the prores recording, and the other functions (for me) are not as good as my 502, so it's just sitting around.

I guess the question is do YOU like it better.. and why? yah i like the screen its a lot like the gorilla glass they use with SMALLHD. and like i said has worked for me great when i rent it

I am considering buying it, mostly for the ProRes recording for "instant" dailies. I don't know either product except on paper. IIRC, there is a big price difference and, since the screen quality is not my most desired feature, I was wondering about the rest.

There are approved cards, but I'm not sure about "finicky"... I've used Sandisk Extreme / Extreme Pro / Extreme Plus / Sony (forget the model)... threw everything I own at it, and they all worked in 24 fps.

You need Extreme PRO to record 60 fps, as other cards aren't fast enough for the data rate.
