I am seeing more noise in my footage vs others I’ve peeked at on the S-W. I’ve done a black shade, but that didn’t seem to change much in the footage. I’m shooting this weekend outside in temps around 34-38F. What would be the best black scenario in this case?

Thanks Ben. I’ll give that a shot. I’ve read some are setting the temp for the camera to 44 and black shading from there with good results. But outdoors with temps in the low 30Fs might be different.

are u doing manual or auto black shade? also what frame rates and resolution are you planning on shooting in? auto blacked is terrible. do a manual black shade in all the frame rates/ resolutions you plan on shooting in. also shoot at higher compression. that should minimize grain.

I think you mean a lower compression #. The camera will be fine in 30s..it can do far far colder. Just make sure the brain has been sitting in that temperature for a little (aka didn't go from a warm car to a cold outside). Let it run for a few minutes and then black shade. You can record a little to get it warmer quicker but definitely don't need 30 minutes of it.
