  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger - EF232LensLibrary19x

Our Birger keeps dropping it's bluetooth connection with my 15" Macbook Pro. This is stopping me from updating the Impero firmware (I don't have a USB-Lemo). Anyone with thoughts?

TIA.

Bump.

Anyone? Perhaps someone from Birger? BEI Device Interface can barely ever get a pairing and even when it does the moment I try to do anything with the Impero (via cable) the bluetooth drops away and takes a lot of restarting, force quitting and re-pairing to find it again. It's very frustrating.

Does anyone know where I get a USB or RJ45 to Lemo adaptor? The Impero seems to hold its bluetooth connection OK but I can't update its firmware.

Shawn, this could be a battery problem. In which temperature you discovered the symptoms?

I've found that rechargeable NiMH AAA-size batteries work best with the Impero unless it gets very cold. Then no batteries seem to work out. But this is not a major problem as the knob itself gets stucken in cold as well so in cold the Impero is like a convertible car.

Upgraded also to build 30. Lens data etc. work as it should.

Lauri, all the testing was done inside. I was using it outside the day before and it did keep working just with the same issue. I thought that the Lithium batteries I was using would have given me more but will try the rechargable ones. The Lithium batteries are supposed to last 8x longer. Very expensive.

What is the rating on the NiMH AAA batteries you are using? I've got some that are 850 mAh. I think that is the highest mAh you can get.

So just to reiterate Lauri, you can adjust your iris and go right back to controlling your focus? You don't have to hit "CAL" more then once?

I use Philips Rechargeable accu AAA/RO3NM, capacity 1000 mAh. Guess lithium batteries should be just ok, but never knows if there something wrong with some individual battery, especially if they've been stored a long time before you bought them.

When changing between focus and iris and just need to hit the F and I buttons. No need to CAL more than once in the beginning.
