Hello, we are currently testing many cameras for bioluminescence for a documentary. We were wondering if the RED MX did capture cold light or bioluminescence. Has anyone shot any footage of the sort. Thanks!

I would think that if its visible to the human eye, it should be visible to a camera sensor. Your main concern should be low-light, in which case the RED MX looks great to me (from the sample footage they shot). I would try an HDSLR if you have one available just to test it out.

Don´t know if it belongs to your theme:
I just was involved in a presentation from Martin Chalfie (Nobel Prize in Chemistry, “Green fluorescent protein as a marker for gene expression”), and I`ve seen some videosamples. While I don`t know which camera it was, I know for that kind of filming a lot of special filtering and glass is necessary.

I´m sure the people from here:

can give you a well founded advice.
