  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BIG PROBLEMS WITH PICTURE QUALITY.......

I do a color software overview class showing off RedCine-X Pro, SpeedGrade, Resolve, and discuss higher end packages over at Gnomon. Earlier in the semester we discuss color theory and how to apply that to digital imaging. I've actually been thinking about opening up a longer form class. Maybe even do some online stuff now that we can.

Count me in!!!! +1

MAYBE ANYBODY KNOWS WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD FOR FREE SPEEDGRADE? ;)

Download the 30 day trial and see if it's for you.

Is Speedgrade as full featured as Resolve? Is there sharpening, noise reduction controls in Speedgrade?

No, it's not. There is sharpening, but I don't think there is noise reduction. It does handle R3D footage better. You don't need as powerful of a workstation for Speedgrade.

Yeah it dies on me too. I get a clip ready and click the looks tab and it stops responding. Not sure whats going on.

Played around a little bit with Speedgrade today..... It felt a little cluttered, it was strange not to have nodes, and there doesn't seem to be any curves.

I'm new to owning a RED (Scarlet) but have been renting Epic all year. I just signed up for this forum and this is the first thread I've dug into. I just wanna say that I'm impressed with the tremendous support and it's nice to know I can come here for some great advice. Honorable mention goes to Mr. Groven for his willingness to dig into those frame grabs. I'm happy to be here!
