Beyond a Reasonable Doubt

nobody can deny sj is speaking the truth about the cinema d'auteur vs industry.. to each his own.. how many hollywood directors can be compared w/ the true auteurs?.. a dozen?.. half dozen?

red might have a decisive role on it.. scarlet?
still on sj's topic.. to listen the typical hollywood's voice over (SHOT ON RED people!) to say.. can tell where the truth ends.. and the lies begin.. is amusing so to speak..

edit
so to speak at least :violin:

One would only need to live in Hollywood/LA for a few months or so to understand how the "system" works...Or you could stay home and watch Entourage!

I watched the trailer a week ago and I had no idea that this film was shot on the red, but in all honesty, when I saw the trailer, I thought the film looked like a piece of crap, and that the image sucked! It looked like a low budget MOW.

A few gut reactions:

720p looked ok but @ 1080p looked crappy

1982 called and wants it's trailer back

Douglas totaly phoned that one in

Even the V.O. guy sounded like he couldn't believe he was actually reading this crap.

I think that it is difficult to judge a trailer until I have seen the film itself. Frequently I have thought that a trailer has given the entire plot away, only to find that the film was so much more than I expected. The trailer for Eastwood's Changeling is one recent example of this for me.

Sanjin, I don't know about your analysis, but I like that you are helping us keep up to date on the new features utilizing RED. It is exciting to me. Maybe you should create that webpage you mentioned, or maybe just a blog... perhaps you already do that?

I think I would have considered watching this flick if Michael Douglas's wife would have made a totally nude cameo appearance. Otherwise, heh.

Scott C.,

I can't judge about that movie and will not do it anyway.

It was just a feature to add at the "shot on RED list"...
