  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Beware of Accessories Costs

Good advice. There is an advantage to those who already have a lot of camera accessories and support gear that will be work with the Scarlet. But those who are buying their first pro camera and don't have much in the way of accessories and all the other gear that goes along with getting the most out of your camera will need to have a plan in place for dealing with this. My general advice is to buy the things you need all of the time and can get some ROI on. For everything else, consider renting if you can. There are a lot of advantages to renting. You just have to know which things to buy and which to rent. That will take some experience or guidance if you are relatively new to the world of pro video.

Just wondering here. If you just get the brain it is useless, right? What other components will you HAVE to have to use something like a Scarlet?

Also, there are no prices yet but I am wondering what people will think the basic price, based off of what the Red One accessories cost, would be to have a functioning Scarlet?

Of course this is all guesstimates.

Take a look at the Fixed Scarlet. That's what you need to have a working Cam:
Remote
CF-Card Slot
Battery
And at least one Lens, but this would be where you'd expand your Setup most.

Did I forget anything?
