BeSteady FOUR Thread

Hi Guys,

let me clear one thing first, I think information from Max about shipment of units wasn't clear enough - we have prepared upgrades to V2 standard for units that we have received. Those weren't production units. Those unit need to pass several independent test. We need to be sure that everything works fine.

New unit's are still being build and I will be acting like I have informed you. When I will receive green light from assembly that unit is ready from QC I will be contacting person from list to confirm that it's ready for delivery and if that person is there to receive it.

I'm sorry for this confusion.

Best
Peter

Can't say, maybe it has delivered, but shipped to my former address.
Still haven't received a mail. PM'ed once and mailed twice.

Last week was my last gimbal rental. Maybe it's time to buy a Ronin.

Piotr,

To help eliminate "confusion", referring to the post at the top of this page...

I believe this communication from you is what Max was verifying.
Not to criticize, but this is the last time you mentioned delivery dates - looks quite straight forward:

Hello Guys,

we finally received confirmation about delivery of new main boards. Adding to it the time needed to put them into units and time required to make full quality control we will resume shipment of units during first week of October and we are planning shipping of all remaining units in that month.

From Monday, please contact us at support@acr-sys.com to arrange details of upgrades of your units to V2 version. We need those information to arrange it in convenient time. Please provide us with information when you will be able to ship your units, when they should be returned and unit serial number. We will need approximately about 5 days to complete upgrades but we will be unable to perform them all at once.

In case of any additional questions, please contact me.

Peter

I recently exchanged with Piotr about that schedule thing as I understood like most of you that we will receive the all batch within the end of the month and here is his reply:

it's impossible to complete all units in such short time. We are doing all we can to finish those as fast as we can - but please remember that we need to perform QC first - and those are crucial.

I will be informing you before shipment, that your unit is ready.

It's really hard to keep faith in ACR, BeSteady or whoever else as it seems there's even communication issues in the company...

Hello,

I would like to inform you about our current situation. Like I have informed you all we are performing strict Quality Control tests before shipment - we need to be absolutely certain that all is working without any problems.

And we found one problem. Because of new environment - new electronic, new power cables and upgraded power distribution - we were forced to tweak firmware. The unit was receiving informations much faster and old firmware was calibrated to work slower. Those time differences were causing slight problems, components on unit were starting in slightly different times and that was causing some erratic behaviour from time to time. We are fixing that right now. Units will be put to another round of QC tests after that to confirm that those issues were fixed.

We don't want to speed those things up. We don't want to send you units that will have some hidden issues that will be manifesting from time to time. That's why I was so reluctant to give you specific delivery dates. Quality control has a priority. I hope you will understand that.

Best
Peter

edit.

I was informed by Max, that the firmware was modified with success. We have 3 tests units working without any problems right now.

I was replying to such question that I have received in October:

"I understand but I guess this means the schedule announced a couple months ago, all group buy units completed by the end of the month, won’t happen."

And answer to such question was - yes, we will not complete all units by the end of October. But they will be delivered by the end of this year.

Please be fair Vincent. Don't cut short our conversations - what you are doing is very similar to news journalist who is "editing" statement so it will fit to his story.

I'd say there has been a lot of unfair "editing" of statements by BS over the past 2 years. You've a long way to go in building trust for you or your company [if ever] so it seems inappropriate to be crticizing an investor of your company.

If only you were able to give my money back I wouldn't have to deal with you, your bad understanding of my previous post and your inefficiency.
Peter, be FAIR with the Redusers who gave you more or less 750k for a project you still haven't completed and don't start acting like a moralist cuz you won't get any award for that role...
Mods, feel free to delete that post if it seems unappropriate.

Ouch, so end of year now eh?
I'm actually glad he said end of THIS year. ;)

Jokes aside, i have a better feeling. Don't know why, but something is going on. Like the powering-solution on that instagram-video. Can we have some more details please?

I have to say that this seems like the most real info we have had from BS/ACR in recent history. So I for one am glad to see a little more transparency beginning to be seen.
Looking forward to more updates as the problem is solved and delivery starts.

Hi Guys,

We found time today to do serious test with RED Dragon, CP.2 50mm and our power solution. As you have been asking - this time we haven't been playing with settings - just made simple endurance test. Connections: RED directly to side arm with LEMO cable (you will get right-angle connector for RED 6-pin, as it gives more freedom when balancing), large battery connected to DC IN via LEMO connector. RED was running 4K with connected 5" screen, we have been playing with sliders on gimbal and using it - running through office and assembly.
Battery: ACR large type, 4S LiPoly, 89 Wh
Camera has been secured with fuses that are located on gimbal board. Those are thermic, so there's no need to change anything if you will make mistake. Plugs are also secured when you will try to connect something with wrong polarity.
If you will turn off gimbal - RED will be still powered, so there's no way to do something stupid while on a shot. Thanks Michael and Alex for feedback - your opinion helped us in decision making process.

Anyway - final outcome of our test is simple. Almost fully charged battery gives you around one hour and 27 minutes of continuous work time with RED Dragon till you will hear 'low voltage' information and screen will start flashing with yellow alert. After that you got still around 15-30 minutes before motors will shutdown. Power will be still going to camera. Till battery dies.

Of course you may use Michael / Alex solution - V batt on a belt, longer cable directly to DC in. Just remember to use larger / more powerful batts, as Dragon eats a lot of juice. Gimbal is usually getting not more than 500mA, up to 2 A peak.

So, everything is ready. Getting back to work and finishing preparation for shipments, guys. We're almost there!

Best
Peter

Hi Peter

Still stuck in my crazy workaway nightmare - hope to escape soon, LOL :)

Just saw this post - looking good! I take it the two Lemos (Battery to Beast and Beast to RED) will be part of the cable upgrade/bundle. Really pleased on the Lemo route for the main body (rather than the old port) - looking forward to sending mine back and getting the V2 upgrade (hardware and software etc).

Out of interest, how long will the unit run with the two small lipos providing the power source?

Will drop you a mail when I'm back to sort things out.

Glad things are moving along now... I think everyone will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel now... and it's good that we're getting a Red-centric' solution.

Hi Andy,

in case of small batteries you can't power RED from them as they have to low power to do so. They are designated for running gimbal and additional accessories like follow focus. In case of powering only gimbal from small batteries running time is up to 13 hours.

Best
Peter

How's the "preparation for shipment" coming along. You guys doing custom laser engraved art on each separate unit? I mean why else would we go another week without an update? If that's the case, I'd like to have a couple from the cover one of those 80s romance novels engraved on mine. Thank you and have a great Monday.

Here's one I like if you're struggling with which one to go with...
