  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

I have to say the shipping schedule doesn't interest me anymore. I'd rather see them get it right and eventually get a useable unit. As long as we get them. I feel like they should work with the first batch users to get them BS4s that they, redusers, think are great. Then proceed.

100% with you on that.

I have to say the shipping schedule doesn't interest me anymore.

especially since its not even accurate. My name shows that I have received the unit, and its also been returned for servicing (am assuming that's what RTC means).....but I was one of the lucky few who got out with a refund at the very beginning. kinda makes you wonder who is keeping track over there.

Just days of silence. I think I may jump on that Ronin deal on B&H to hold me over while I wait for the Four.
I just bought the Ronin since I may not able to see my BeSteady 4 until next year.

There's a couple used helixs FS...

Hi guys,

As you’ve noticed I’ve been absent for the last fortnight and left Peter to attend to any queries or questions directly. I’ve neglected to drop in and check on the current situation and I owe it to RedUsers to explain myself. Some of you may not know that my work with BeSteady is currently pro bono. While I dedicate time to support the team I earn my living as creative director and founder of a production company. My absence the last fortnight has been down to me being working on client work that will account for most of 2015. Between all my responsibilities the last 2 weeks have been stressful beyond belief and have gone by faster than I could have imagined.

I’ve had to give the situation a huge amount of thought. It’s a difficult decision to come to. Rather than to continue to let the team and yourselves down so regularly I have decided to take a step back from my responsibilities with BeSteady. I’m completely aware this will not be a popular post but I have to commit to a difficult decision.

I still have all the confidence in the team and In the meantime I think it's best that Peter steps in to offer a dedicated team member to answer questions and updates.

I've alerted Peter to check in and provide an update asap.

Apologies and Regards

Again I'm asking Peter for updates via Skype today. The priority is SOLID BS4's, ready to work.

Pro,
Unlike some here I am not so
forgiving. I have two young children I have to provide for, Mortgage payments I can not miss, bills, bills, bills that have to be paid; travel away from home a final exam thats killing me and you and your company have been paid by us.

Your post does not leave me with a lot of confidence if you have decided to take a step back. You are not the only one with a lot on your plate. We all have clients that are needy as a 5 and 10 year old. I can't speak for anyone on this forum but 5k is not chump change and I really do not want to loose it or have it just disappear in a bad deal (I've learned my lesson).

I will ask for your honest reply:

1). Are we going to receive what was promised to us for the money we paid?
2). Other than cash-flow, is the current repair related to a cable on the encoders or is it more related to components on the IC board that now has to be redesigned and re manufactured?

Thanks in advance for your timely and honest reply.

Best

Maks, Piotr and anyone who is still with BeSteady, please see through your commitment to this group buy. Whatever you do, don't quit. You have created something beyond beautiful. I know, I've held it in my hands. Just stay the course, and you will come out of this all with pride and integrity. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay positive and keep going and believe that things will change for the better, and they will.

Hello,

You have asked for answers for that questions

1). Are we going to receive what was promised to us for the money we paid?
2). Other than cash-flow, is the current repair related to a cable on the encoders or is it more related to components on the IC board that now has to be redesigned and re manufactured?

Ad 1) Yes, we are committed to fulfil our promises and deliver fully working units with all promised accessories. We are doing all we can to deliver but please understand - we are in difficult financial situation and it is causing additional delays. Appearance of DJI Ronin and its price tag killed sales of most gimbals and caused some companies to disappear from market. Ronin isn't the best gimbal on the market - but it's extremely cheap and it makes it so popular.

Ad 2) The problem was caused by encoders, not by IC board. We had to add additional functions in code and modify the connectors and encoders housing to make the solution work without any additional difficulties and it caused some additional delay as we decided to test if the solution is fully functional and there will be no additional problems with it. We have send unit for extended testing performed by our friends from rental company on movie set - they were working in natural environment with FOUR unit trying to catch any problems that we could miss during laboratory tests performed in hands of our engineers and by our programmers. We have completed the trails and the solution proved to be working. We are implementing it in the FOUR design right now but it requires some minor changes in the way that encoders are mounted in engines. Those parts need to be reworked but it will solve the problem.

I will keep updating you on regular basis with new information I will be collecting for you from my collogues from engineering and IT.

Best
Peter

Thanks for the update.

Personally, an update like this, whilst pointing at delays (etc), is much better to hear... we know you're working on stuff and listening.

Procedures like rigorous testing (before sending out units) makes sense and is line with things a few of us have said... in the long run, delays this side to get things working are much better than rushing them out - and then having to stomach a ton of returns (and the postal costs that you guys will end up having).

Carey is very (very) positive about the BS4. I think most of us are too. Everyone understands cashflow and issues (I've run a couple of businesses in my time), so you'll get more patience and understanding from small 'micro' updates like this rather than going silent.

Keep us updated - and I look forward to getting my BS4 and accessories.
