  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

Can you update here as well please.

Let's keep this as an active resource for us all too. Simply cut and past the same update here.

Hi Pro
I can't access the BS forum because nobody sent me the password needed. Can u please sent it to me? Thanks.

I know it's painful waiting for responses. i've talked to Peter and I'm aiming to get as detailed update as possible for Monday afternoon. I've listed what I think should be included. If I've missed anything let me know and I'll add it to the list.

- Status of returned units
- Status of BS4 production / updated shipping schedule
- Status of accessory pack
- Software/Firmware update

This message is also in our forum and I'll post a link when the update is live.

I've skyped Peter and Max today to plead for an update ASAP today. They said Peter will get Pro the information to post today.

It's like pulling teeth but Skype does seem to be a way of getting responses.

For the best interest of all concerned:
I don't think people should abuse it or bombard them but if you have a real/immediate problem or issue, I'm hereby encouraging you to get on Skype and message them there - instead of just posting here:

Max: v1nt3r_pl
Mike: besteady-support
Peter: piotr.chmielewski_1

Hey Pro,
Could you please add me on the BS forum? I sent you and the team multiple PMs begging for that and I still can't connect to the BS4 RU GB page.

Please. An update of the remaining units will be much appreciated. Cables pack? many weeks past already...

Hey Guys,

Peter sent me info earlier. I'm just putting info into a post. Sorry for the delay. I'll get a link up asap.

I'll check again with Mike as I'm not sure how to add people to the thread. I'll go through in case I missed any names.

Can you give us an idea of when asap is? Tonight, tomorrow etc.?

You missed my name in terms of being added to the thread, by the way :)

Copy of the post:

Ok guys, Peter provided me with information on the points I highlighted. There's no solid clarification on a timeline but he's working hard to provide one by next week.

One of the most critical bits of information is that the delay in production caused major cash flow issues. The company is in a stable position but only after having to let go of half the assembly team. This paired with the encoder issue means that the timeline has been hit hard. Mark is determined not to let things slip into even longer delays and has been working double shifts and overlooking assembly closely. This isn't what you guys wanted to hear but components are sitting and waiting to be assembled. It will just happen even slower.

TImeline: Peter has assured me that an updated timeline considering the delay's caused will be available in the middle of next week. Currently he doesn't have enough information to provide an accurate schedule.

Status of Returned units: European units should be returned within a week of repair while US units seem to take longer. Some units from the States have yet to arrive with us while they make it through US customs (which is super tight). If you are currently waiting for a unit to be returned please contact Peter directly at Peter@besteady.eu.

Accessory Pack: This is the really bad news. We have found a manufacturer to produce cables but the cost is much higher than we had anticipated (around 25K GBP). Until BeSteady is able to fulfil dealer orders we won't be able to start shipping cable packs. This essentially means that we can't ship cables until after RedUser units are shipped and dealer orders begin.

Software/Firmware: New builds are being developed constantly. The current release schedule for the next major update is early January.

Really sorry, but this is all I have for now. I'll keep talking with Peter and share any more detailed information as I have it.

And what fool is going to buy one of these from a dealer? If you wanted to sell any of these at all, you'd have them working in our hands and let our feedback and footage sell your product (if it's as good as you say). Right now you're going about this bass ackwards. You should be investing in your product and see it as a marketing expense in the hope you'll get it back in future sales. This approach has fail written all over it, firmly leaving us up shit creek.

Paddle please.

:frown5: Worse news of the day which is so ironic as its on my birthday, the day my unit was scheduled to arrive not so long ago. How depressing... By the way I still have a dead on arrival BS1 plus that no one wants to collect, been in touch several times about it... Now just gathering dust on a shelf waiting for anyone to answer. No rush..

I'm not really interested in my unit UNTIL/UNLESS it ships with all the cables and promised accessories (which was a lot of the reason the BS4 looked attractive 'back in the day' - as it was tailored for use on the Epic/Scarlet).

Not really sure what I feel at the moment, but this really, as we say in Blighty, 'just isn't cricket'.

I suppose, we'll have to see what happens as the days/weeks progress.

We've invested (or rather been tricked into investing) our money in the development of this product. How about you guys at BS dig a little deeper into your private pockets to sort this nonsense out.

BeSteady has my empathy. Being a small business is tough, and they are making painful choices laying off staff to keep the doors open. As a small business owner, you don't get to that point without digging deep in your own pocket first, so I am certain they have already done that. I am extremely grateful that they are persevering instead of pulling a Viewfactor. Those of you grousing about cables should count yourself lucky that you are still getting a stabilizer at all. We take a risk buying from start-ups, and could have been burned FAR worse than delayed delivery. I am willing to pay an additional fee for the cables if that helps, and I wish BeSteady all the luck in the world with their final push.
