BeSteady FOUR Thread

Prokopi,

Would you mind giving us an update on how things are going?

Thanks.

Just some thoughts to help keep this thread accessible…

I understand the issues that some mods have expressed about having the REDUser site be utilized as a means to communicate with a product manufacturer without sponsorship.
It is unfair to those sponsors that contribute financially to keep this site accessible to all of us.

I want to ensure that this thread - or any other started on this subject - not be deleted due to a violation of the "rules".
I believe that if we keep this as an open exchange between users in this group - to report problems, share results and information, we can likely keep it open for a long time to come.
The danger comes into play when we request this vendor to use this site as a means of communication with us.

As far as BS4, there was a commitment by this particular manufacturer to use a private portal on their website to facilitate communications - which has not been happening.
That needs to start now. There is no reason or justification to not keep us in the loop.

They also certainly have the means to send us emails. After all, at less than 70 addresses, we are not looking at outrageous data management.

The lack of updates is extremely troubling as this issue has been a systemic problem for longer than I care to remember.

As far as the transparency issues - at least one moderator has indicated this thread is being watched carefully - best to keep this in mind.
if we are able to keep this thread open, there should be no problem sharing information - including updates on the level of support by BS.
The real danger is when we lose the means to communicate with one another.

That said, to be fair, everything should be equal - there are threads on other gimbals wherein manufacturers are providing input as well as responding to end-users and potential customers without any REDUser sponsorship associated with their names. They should live by the same rules.

Brian, there is a thread on the BS4 forum open especially for the BS4 GB, with some posts in it, but as long as this thread here stays open, i think there won´t be much traffic there. You have to register with your real name there, and send an email to mike@besteady.eu, with your login name, so he will give you access to this forum.

Last information was, that 3rd of Nov. is still valid for the next shipping batch.

Regarding return shipments i feel with you if you´re outside EU territory. I had the same troubles back when i was upgrading my Red one to MX sensor. DHL was the worst company to choose from, they can´t really handle T1 customs clearance (return & repair) i had to take my camera from DHL to a local forwarder who made the declaration. After declaration this forwarder had to return it back to DHL for delivery. It was a nightmare. That was one of the main reasons i decided for BeSteady based in Europe over Movi based in USA.

Good luck to everyone and lets hope the best for next week.
Manuel

Manuel,

Quite familiar with that BsSteady forum - I have been registered there since May 20th.

Since Pro mentioned that he was planning on publishing all updates there, I was hoping that we would see some new info by now.

IMHO, it is very important that we retain the ability to share our knowledge here - among REDUsers.
My concern was in looking back through this thread, we face the possibility of being closed if the mods guidelines are not followed.
At a minimum, until BS is a sponsor, that is a risk.

Carey, how´s the comparison test going along ? Eager to get some results and footage from the BS4 finally.

thanks
Manuel

Hi guys,

I'm trying to keep posts in here about the Group Buy to a minimum to avoid the thread being locked. We're waiting to hear back from Jason who I'm sure is very busy so we'll have to be patient. Please try and direct any questions about the group buy to our forum. I want to make sure we have a presence from you guys there so everyone is as informed as possible.

The post can be found here: http://www.forum.besteady.eu/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=71&p=218#p218
You'll have to register with your full name (as with RU) and drop me a PM so we can add you to the thread. My user name is Prokopi Constantinou.

Carey: Try getting operating in inverted mode. It's much easier to sustain over longer periods.

Alex: PM me your e-mail and I'll forward it to Mike myself. He's normally very prompt. I'm not sure why you haven't had a response yet.

I'm getting closer to being able to write up a competent review about the BeSteady in comparison to the M15. Right now, all I can say is how extremely impressed I am with the BS4. This thing is F-ing awesome!

Music to my ears.
Thanks Carey
Looking forward to your full review.

Great & welcome news Carey!

Glad you're feeling better & looking forward to more info.

Get that sponsorship sorted & I'd say Besteady might well finally be on the road to redemption.

Good luck!

Bad news. It seems my BS4 is malfunctioning and must go back to Poland. I had so many good things to say about it, but now, I will have to wait to retest.

I'm not paying to ship this defected item back to Poland. Will the powers that be please arrange to have my unit returned? I can't get a straight answer about how to get this BS4 returned to them.

And no, I'm not paying this DHL bill I received for a defective product that needs to be shipped back.
