Best way to store a follow focus?

What's the best way to store a follow focus? It's in my 1514 right now with all the other stuff but I don't want the wheel to move at all, because I feel that the tiny shakes and movements that make the gears turn slightly would eventually wear it out and it would start giving slack. Or am I just being crazy. Would a Pelican 1120 or 1200 w/ foam suffice?

Foam is totally fine. A good follow focus can take the vibration.

Most professional rental houses just throw them in a box with little to no padding. These things can take abuse. Just sayin.
