Best videocard(s) for G5 (AGP 8X bus)

Hi!

I have a dual 2Ghz G5 Powermac - the model with the AGP 8X bus. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB installed. I am trying to upgrade to a better video card. ProRes 1080 qukicktimes are a bit stuttery (despite having a maximum of 8Gb RAM inside the tower)... also it would be great if I could run a 30' display (mt 9800 card doesn't have dual-link DVI).

Does anybody know the best video card one could possibly install on my G5 configuration? Or at least a much better video card than the one I currently have? Again, I want smooth playback of ProRes 1080 quicktimes and possibly the ability to run a 30' display.

I don't think a new graphics card will help 1080 ProRes playback, as ProRes decoding doesn't use the GPU. A G5 is not really up to the task you are demanding of it.
