Looking for suggestions or opinions on a company that can provide a good value for production music. Need to fill a one hour HD special for broadcast. Thanks.

My vote is for GMP

Depends on what you are looking for

There does not seem to be a one size fits all badass value price leader. However, I've spent way more time than I admit to myself trolling the various options, and I'm picky about the websites and systems as much as the library - here's my 2 cents -

Productiontrax.com - value and usability leader for more traditional made for TV and cinema stuff, and a LOT of it. Have found some amazing gems here for next to nothing. Not needle drop licenses, meaning, simpler, cheaper.

Rumblefish - for more genre based stuff, incredible value, and some well known and strong indie bands - many in the art rock and world genres well suited to doco/broadcast work - for very fair prices, simple licensing, great website.

APM - the 1000 pound gorilla for need drop production music. Seems to average about 350 bucks per needle drop, but HUGE library, very strong browsing/web systems, and a lot of top notch content.

I could go on, but these 3 seem to cover 90% of our needs.
