Let's say I have a 1080p 45-minute project acquired at 30p. Now let's say I need to deliver it at 24p.

What is the best program known to man today to convert the whole thing to 24p? And will it look good?

It's not the best of formats and directions to be going in - but you will most likely need Teranex, Snell & Wilcox, or other similar hardware devices to provide the highest quality possible.

So probably taking it to a post house that has some serious hardware and software?

Even the best software / hardware available can't 30p->24p automatically without artifacts.

At some point you have to get a visual effects guy in there painting out glitches, brushing vectors the right way for retimes, etc.

Or else just accept a certain amount of ghosting / stutter / warping.

Agree that Teranex, Snell & Wilcox etc should be looked into.

The networks time-remap stuff all the time (eg they want to fit a movie to a certain time slot). But usually that is using sneaky tricks such as non-standard variations on 3:2 that are slightly faster etc.

Also, they are delivering 60i, which is more forgiving. 30p->24p is really hard.

Tell us more about the project.
