Best stills lenses for pulling focus...

I've been using Canon EF lenses for a while now, and along with their short focus throws, as well as inaccurate, non-repeatable manual focus mechanisms, they are becoming increasingly trying to work with.

What would you guys consider to be the best stills lenses for pulling focus, as well as accurate, repeatable focus? For me, I'd have to say Zeiss ZF lenses. I've yet to try the ZE variants.

I can live with short focus throws on still lenses, what bothers me most is heavy breathing, even on the most expensive ones.

So what's the deal with Leica R lenses? Why so popular with the cine crowd?

The Leica R's like the Zeiss ZE/ZFs have really nice mechanics. Silky smooth focus mechanisms. The Leicas also have a gorgeous look. We did a big lens shootout in Portland and their look was among the favorites.
