I was just writing to see if people felt that a super 16mm or B4 lens resolved better in 2k than a 35mm lens. Obviously all lenses are different, but in general do super 16mm lenses resolve better since they're made for a smaller format?

20 years ago that was usually the case ...
today ?? zeiss says to use their 35mm (ultra & master primes) for S16 (14mm and above) ... they also make wider lens for S16 only ... i see cooke also makes only wide lens (s4) for S16 and if you need longer use the 35mm S4's ...
i would think that with a digital sensor there would be a MAX resolution depending on the pixel size ????

It depends on your timeframe, but Birger has announced a fourthirds mount, which might even cover 3K. The good thing about lenses made for 4/3s is that everything is electronic, and some very promising lenses are popping up from leica and zuiko/olympus and sigma. You might want to consider this option if you don´t mind waiting and intend to shoot 2-3k.
here is a link for the lenses evailable at the moment.

I remember birger recommending this option, and praising the resolving power of the all-digital 4/3s mount system.
