Best or Suggested Video Card for PC

I just built a new PC.
I have a i7 930 CPU,
ASUS P6TD Deluxe MOBO,
750 watt powersupply,
6 GB SDRAM at 1600
cooler master V8 CPU cooler for overclocking.

I put the Radeon HD 5770 1 GB GPU from Sapphire in the box to start out, but have heard that ATI and red do not play well together.

Is my card ok for editing red footage on Vegas 9.0?
IF there is a better card(s), can I get some suggestions?

Maybe in these price ranges: 100-250, 250-400, 400 plus.

Well, Nvidia is pretty much out of the market, at least until their new GTX 400 cards hit market, but no one's sure when that is. Unless of course you can do with an entry level (<$100) which is the only place Nvidia has products available.

I have used HD 4800 cards and they work fine with Vegas. The HD 5700 is pretty much a direct replacement to the HD 4800s. I can't really comment on how it works with RED + Vegas though.

FWIU, Vegas does not use the videocard for any type of acceleration at all. So I honestly think it may not matter one iota what videocard you are using.
