  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Best of NAB 2018 - Post your finds here

Here is their BMD pocket cam. Decent screen, but having shot 8k for a year it's hard to get excited on anything 4k

That's a good shot from BM. Not sure about the choice of MFT, but I guess that's a cost/convenience thing, as I know I'd prefer something with image stabilzation.

The sensor would have potentially been off the shelf. A long time to wait just to hit 13 stops native 4k (when that is already out there, even through their website provider on old sensors I believe. It seems abnormal to wait all these years to do this, when they could have upgraded the studio and video assist to operate as a camera. Very extremely disappointed).

One of the best in development things my brother, Patrick, and I saw was that Boris FX is working on a new 64-bit version of Genarts Particle Illusion for later this year! They stopped selling the plugin for After Effects some time ago so there was only the standalone of version 3, which is great but not as handy as the plugin version and the effects were barely 720p. Now that’s all going to change big time! So much yes to this news!!! :D

IBIS is still not that common, RED doesn't make anything with IBIS after all!

And MFT is the most widely supported mirrorless format by far so it makes a lot of sense for BMD to stick with MFT for their Pocket series of cameras.

Their Studio 4K cameras were using a completely different sensor, wouldn't have given the performance BMD wanted in a "Cinema" branded camera.
