Hi,

About to get my hands on a Scarlet Dragon and want to get the most effective ND/IR solution.
I watched the AbelCine IR event from 2012 or so and saw how sensitive Red sensors are to IR...

What's general consensus for the best ND/IR filters, either ND plus IR cut or combo IRND? Which brand works bet with the Dragon sensor?
Red Pro matte box has 2 slots so would love to get IRND's if they work and don't turn everything green... Also wary of the Tiffen Hot mirrors because they are crazy expensive. (Though according to the AbelCine demo, they work well...)

Thanks in advance for any advice and recommendations,

Dom

Dragon doesn't need IR blocking. The STH, LLO and STD OLPFs block IR. Not sure about the other OLPFs though.
The old video you saw was for the MX sensor.

Thanks Akin, glad it's not for the Dragon. So even at high ND's you don't use any IR cut or Hot mirror?

They are pricey indeed. I bought the cheaper screw-ins.

do they have 77mm screw ins???
not sure if im looking at the right ones.

so ive still been using nd/ir for 1.2 and over, does it not need it?

those do look interesting

I love my Firecrest NDs. 0.6 0.9 1.2 for full coverage. I use the 82mm screw ons and use brass step up rings so I can use them with all my lenses. This works for me until I invest in a solid matte box.
