  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Best Media Field Recorder w/ no hiccups.

HD?

I have been using a Sound Devices (SD) PIX240 (now: 240i) for almost 2 yrs. Flawless performance. Brilliant interface. Bomb-proof construction. Regular software upgrades (like a certain Camera Co.) makes it "new" again on a regular basis. I do not shoot R3D, so PIX has been my full-time recorder.
Great tech support and active SD Forum where Qs and solutions are promptly posted.
Works right off the SDI tap and will trigger via RED. SDI Time-codes and file data from RED for Proxie recording fully supported too.
Up to ProRes 444 and AVID files formats, real-time conversion regardless of REDs output (so if client wants 1080i/60 for eg...)
yeah - am a Fan Boy.

PIX 240. Ditto to what Stu noted. Ive had mine 2 years and have had no problems. My first Sound Devices product and have since purchased a small mixer from them. Quality around.

Thanks Guys/.. because of you..I'm a proud Sound Device Owner... Cool beans..
