Hi ever one

I will start to shot my new short film soon, my film talk about torture in Libyan prisons, i have small studio so i make decorations prison and will work with low light as dark place.

i have Epic camera, my question is what is best ISO number can give us best quality ? i will work with 5K image and Zeiss F Nikon lens...

Dark scenes, 320

Outside, 800

Nothing is wright or wrong but for cleanest black I say 320, but 800 looks good as long as you dont lift the blacks in post. Its more that if you shoot 320 you probely give your scene more light and therefore have more latitude in the dark areas. If you shoot iso 1600 you will have more latitude on the highlight. In this case I rather have more in the dark areas.

Why not do some test before and se whats fit you?

Thank u 4 all, Paul i will work with Tungsten ( dedolight ) and i will use some HMI light come from outdoor as drawing on the walls, do u think in this case i need CTB filter ???

I always rate the epic at a 640 ISO. 800 to me tends to be a little grainy, while if you are shooting at 320, it really makes it difficult to nail your highlights, as they are being artificially pulled down. I meter at 640, and set the camera to 640. In turn it gives the sensor a bit more light, and keeps my highlights right where I want them. Of course there are instances when I over expose the sensor more, but for me, I need to know what that looks like at 640, as It gives me a constant to work from. Throwing the ISO back and forth to me just gets confusing.
