What are folks using for a handheld director's monitor for in the field? I'd like something at least 9 inches. 7 inches just seems too small for a director's monitor. I don't think SmallHD make's a 9" monitor.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks!

There are not many 9" options out there and I have yet to see one light enough for sustained handheld use. In my opinion, 7" is the sweet spot for handheld and the next step up is 17" on a stand. I love handing my smallhd 703 bolt to directors, knowing that there are no cables for them to break or screws that are going to come loose.

SmallHD 703 Bolt is the best handheld directors monitor I have found. If you need a bigger monitor than that, the Flanders 9” is beautiful color but not bright. Better to jump all the way to 17” offerings.

I agree with Federico. The 9 inch Red is the monitor if you want a 9 inch. Lens Authority is selling a few for a good price.
