Any recommendations guys for a good follow focus for 15mm rods to be used with cine and still lenses for under 1k?
Looking at the Shoot35 and Letus....

Thanks in advance.

I'm using a TRUSMT. Excellent build quality on par with MUCH more expensive units, hard stops, and no discernible lash.

I think Zacuto's is flippable though which would be a nice feature to have.

The TrusMT is not bad, but order it with the fixed arm. The adjustable arm (more or less copied from Arri, but not done well) can't be fixed reliably and ruins the gear contact.

Yeah, I have the same follow focus. I had problems with the arm staying in place and wrote them about it. They sent out the fixed arm at no charge. I received it in like 2 days. Works great now.

Lanparte Follow Focus.

Beautifully made, no backlash. Hard stops. Big, sturdy and grippy focusing knob.

I second that. Buy it off http://coollcd.com/
It's rock solid. I got the FF, 15mm 12inch carbon fiber rails, lens gears, and rod mount for less than $500! Couldn't find anything else with this quality at this price. Also got mine shipped less within 5 days.

For the price it's hard to beat the gini I Focus. It's from Gini 2011 on ebay - he always has higher buy it now prices, but if you offer 200-300 or so he'll sell it for that. All metal, no backlash - great for the price. Doesn't have hard stops or anything but everything else is great. It's nearly identical to the Cinevate one which costs about 6 times as much.. I've tested them side by side and aside from being a little less adjustable its 95% as good.

I also have the Lanparte and am VERY pleased with it. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I invested in a redrock a few years back and now there is so much movement in the gears is basically useless.

I'm curious how you guys would say your FF has held up, are the gears still smooth? no slack? etc.

I'm looking for long term quality and build quality.

Thanks in advance,
Jacob

Thanks for all the replies guys,Lamparte looks solidly built-any you guys that own one use Cine lenses with it,namely CP2's....

I can't tell you how much i have been wanting a good FF, and with the TrusMT NF2 i have finally found it. it's just great! It is highly collapsible so that it fits in small bags, and the nob and hard stops are very well designed! love it. and price is just unbeatable...

I’ve got a CAvision rff-15 for sale. It’s really smooth. Comes with two gears. It’s a dual wheel too.

Perfect for a small setup.

+1. Found that out the hard way. I seldom have use for a FF so have been reluctant to spend multi thousands on the real thing.
