  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

best dslr

i mean 12mp vs 21 mp is not really a question.

if i were to go with nikon dslr, the D3 is the best one, right? but D3 is just
12.1 MP and canon's 1Ds Mark III is 21.1 MP. if i were to edit the pics in photoshop, the higher the Megapixel count the better right? or am i wrong?

is there any renowned photographer in hollywood that prefers nikon dslr over canon's? and is Apple's Aperture app a better choice to edit RAW files?

The MP difference in any camera is usually of factor when making large prints.

The main reason I went with the 1Ds III is for that, the best available image quality in the market today, as far as the MP range for large prints, the second and important reason was the FF, and the third reason was the fact that I own every single L series lens in the current Canon inventory.

Ciao

Yes, the D3 is the top of the Nikon line.

Yes a big difference in MP, again most important in large prints, as it holds much more detail.

It is not all about the MP, but they do sure count for something.

Aperture 2 is what I use and is one of the most widely used program among my circle, fantastic and second to none for organizing files and of super fast download, even with files of 37MB per PIC, which the 1DS III creates, and it can output 100MB Tiff files for large prints and commercial applications.

I'm sure that they are many D3 shooters out there, but all the ones I know here in California, Miami, Vegas, and Italy shoot Canon 1Ds.

Ciao
