  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Best configuration for editing machine?

I have a Mac Pro with 2 quad core 2.8 Xeon processors, 18GB of Ram and four 1.5TB drives. I also have RAID card.

What would be the best configuration for this machine for editing with Premiere Pro?

Which raid and any other enhancements / tweeks to make it optimal for editing.
 
In short,

I wouldn't use the Mac raid card better of using an external raid tower with an esata port and get an esata card to fit in your PCI slots.

If you want to edit and correctly gauge your colors and exposures get a video card or break out box I'm a fan of Blackmgic's Decklink as well as a sweet broadcast monitor.
