For a prime, a 50mm would be the size you want. The "S" series lenses will not cover the 6K sensor.
The 50mm 1.4 Series I Canon is a crap lens for cinematography. The barrel will shift when you change directions when racking which shifts the image. Maybe not when it's new but once you break it in and it loosens up it will. If you are doing stills it is an OK lens.
I have not seen the 50mm F/1.8 Series II that others are recommending. It is a full plastic housing lens so I stayed away from it.
All the lenses in my sig work well on my Red One / Birger rig. The 28mm and 85mm are mid range lenses around ~$450 new while the 35mm and 50mm are the expensive L series lenses ~$1300.
At your price range the only Do It All lens would be the 28-135 F/3.5-5.6, if it would be fast ehough for you.
