  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Best 'budget' EVF solution for Red Epic now that there are more options available?

I've always believed that if you are going to put an image a few inches away from your eye, and look at it for hours on end, it should be the highest quality image you can get.

The LCOS has a washed out look to its colors and it's contrast that becomes tough to look at and adds to eye fatigue.

The OLED version has some rainbows issues for some people (not for me) but the image is so much crisper and cleaner then the LCOS that I actually enjoy looking at it for hours on end.

In the age of electronic monitoring options, EVF's, in my opinion, are about helping the operator get lost in the image, instead of getting distracted by the elements of production. As weird as it may seem, a big part of that immersion factor is how good the screen inside the EVF is, and the OLED screen is top notch.
 
I love an EVF and I am trying to make a decision on one as well. I simply don't trust monitors outside and I shoot outdoors a lot.
